Heritage Plants and Seeds

  • Sourcing period appropriate plants is our specialty. Please note we DO NOT sell heritage seeds or plants.
  • The 'common name' of a plant can vary region to region and also over time. Seed merchants have notoriously (in the past, anyway) changed the name of a variety offering the 'new and improved' to unsuspecting customers.
  • Historic seed catalogues, magazines and publications help determine what varieties are appropriate in gardens and landscapes.
  • If you want to 'do it yourself' start with the heritage seed program in your country. Visit http://www.seeds.ca for Canada's program and http://www.seedsavers.org for the U.S. program.
